Abstract Landscapes

We have a need to relate to the space around us, to make sense of it and to find our way through it. Our response is most heightened at the edge of our experience when we need to explore new spaces and conditions and convert our fears into assurances. My interest is in conveying more abstract landscapes that are at the edge of our understanding and cause us to reassess our place in our surroundings. In generating these works I am influenced by time passing and its effect on nature, where it may cause rust and decay. These detailed elements of nature’s effect can be brought to the level of landscape. My purpose is to find these landscapes somewhere between intention and abstraction and hope they convey the uncertainty of our experience.
